Izdail thanks for pointing us to Martha's blog:http://www.themarthablog.com/ I love the library building--hope I'll get to see it in person one of these days.
As for the editing, my editors often have valuable comments about places where the story isn't working well, or the writing is unclear.

Happy Memorial Weekend Holiday Ms Paretsky and everyone.
Martha Stewart recently visited our country for the Tourism Gala and was feted by our Queen.
If you are free, please read Martha's blog on her trip which was accompanied by beautuful photos of Malaysia.
Please visit us one day. It's a very cheap destination - value for money - which Ms Stewart can attest. With the USD, you will indeed have a fun time in the sun for your summer holidays. You can wine, dine and party all night long, I can assure you. Cheers.

Hi
Good one. Like the part where it says more pizzaz, no gibberish.
As a seasoned author, do you have your manuscripts returned for rewriting? Or do the editors edit it themselves? Or it is usual a clean copy with no editing required? How many revisions do you have to do before your book goes to print?
I am impressed, indeed amazed, with Americans from celebrities to Senator John Edward's wronged wfe Elzabeth amd Laura Bush, to cite a few, who can easily come out with a tell-all book.
Do they write it themselves? Or do they have ghost writers? And I wonder whether it is entirely rewritten by the publising house editors.
Is it easy for ordinary Americans to get their books published?

Thank You. Sorry for the many questions. I am really interested in books written by Americans.

Lorraine, I first encountered Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster, and still infinitely prefer the Wodehouse series to House!

Thank you so much for bringing attention to the earlier work of two now-well-known-in-America British actors. House and Mr. Bean had lives before making it over the pond, although most people don't seem to wonder about the biographical element at all.

I was in awe when I first came across them, and, after all these years, still am!
